Draíodóir Loch An Dúin (The Wizard of Lake An Dúin).

With this illustration I want to reflect the typical things in a study or laboratory of a druid in a very personal and fantastic way, setting the scene in ancient Ireland in a distant and completely imaginary time.
The tittle of the work, in Irish Gaelic, Draídoir Loch An Dúin (The Wizard of Lake An Dúin) makes reference to a beautiful and far-off lake located in the Eastern Mountains in Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, in Ireland.
I have included many references to the fascinating Celtic culture, some of the real, such as Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of the Taking of Ireland) and the fantastic Leabhar Cheanannais (Book of Kells), and many others from my imagination and from the huge amount of documentation I have, but in no way I have pretended to recreate the Celtic culture accurately (in fact there is a drawing by Leonardo and a chart by Juan de la Cosa, etc...).
This is just a fantasy work with a very free vision on topics I absolutely love, the world of the Celts and Ireland.
It is made with Cinema 4D, except the central character in which I have used Poser (just the figure, not his clothes or hair) and the ivy which was generated with the fantastic software IvyGenerator.
